Nemesis: Retaliation · Board game rules
can you get several injuries?
Quick answer
Yes, a Character can take many Health losses and gain multiple Serious Wounds, even duplicates, until their Health marker reaches the Skull and they die.
Details
Health is tracked on a Health track split into Healthy, Injured and Heavily Injured. Characters lose Health points during the game, and you move your Health marker accordingly [p.18 — CHARACTER'S HEALTH AND WOUNDS]. When the marker moves from the last slot onto the Skull icon, the Character dies [p.18 — CHARACTER'S HEALTH AND WOUNDS].
Serious Wounds are separate cards, mostly gained from Intruder Attacks. Each one reduces both current and max Health, and the Health marker may never move onto a slot covered by a Serious Wound [p.18 — SERIOUS WOUNDS]. Each new Serious Wound is drawn at random and placed in the leftmost Health section that doesn't have one yet [p.18 — SERIOUS WOUNDS]. If your Health marker is in that section, it moves to the first empty slot in the next section, which may discard an Armor Item [p.18 — SERIOUS WOUNDS].
Serious Wounds can only be removed by certain Items and Rooms. If you have more than one, you choose which to discard, and the rest slide to the leftmost Health sections [p.18 — SERIOUS WOUNDS].
Watch out: You can hold 2 identical Serious Wounds, but their effects do not stack [p.18 — SERIOUS WOUNDS].
