Overview
- Competitive engine-building game for 1–5 players [p.1 — Wingspan]

Setup
- Shuffle bird deck; place 3 face-up cards on the bird tray [p.2 — Setup]
- Place all food and egg tokens in the supply [p.2 — Setup]
- Toss 5 food dice into the birdfeeder [p.2 — Setup]
- Choose goal board side (Green = majority, Blue = 1 pt/item); place 4 random goal tiles [p.2 — Setup]
- Shuffle bonus card deck and place it on the table [p.2 — Setup]
- Each player gets: 1 player mat, 8 action cubes, 2 bonus cards, 5 bird cards, 5 food (1 of each type) [p.2 — Player Setup]
- Each player keeps up to 5 birds; discard 1 food per bird kept; keep 1 bonus card [p.2 — Player Setup]
- Randomly choose first player [p.2 — Player Setup]
Turn structure
Each turn, place 1 action cube and take exactly 1 action:
- Play a Bird — pay egg cost + food cost, place bird in habitat, trigger 'WHEN PLAYED' power [p.6 — Option 1]
- Gain Food — place cube in forest row, take food from birdfeeder dice, activate forest birds right→left [p.7 — Option 2]
- Lay Eggs — place cube in grassland row, place eggs on birds, activate grassland birds right→left [p.8 — Option 3]
- Draw Bird Cards — place cube in wetland row, draw from tray or deck, activate wetland birds right→left [p.9 — Option 4]
Round ends when all players have placed all their action cubes [p.5 — Round Structure]

Scoring

Glossary
- Cache: Place a food token on a bird card; it cannot be spent — worth 1 VP at game end [p.10 — Bird Powers]
- Tuck: Slide a bird card under a flocking bird to represent a flock; each tucked card = 1 VP [p.10 — Bird Powers]
- WHEN ACTIVATED (brown): Power triggers when you use that habitat action, right→left [p.10 — Bird Powers]
- ONCE BETWEEN TURNS (pink): Triggers on opponents' turns; usable once per round between your own turns [p.10 — Bird Powers]
- WHEN PLAYED: Power triggers only the moment the bird is placed; never again [p.10 — Bird Powers]
- Egg limit: Max eggs a bird can hold, shown by egg icons on the card [p.8 — Option 3]
- Star nest: Wild nest type; counts as any nest type for goals and bonus cards [p.8 — Types of Nests]
- Wild food: Any of the 5 food types satisfies a wild icon requirement [p.6 — Option 1]
