Tend reference sheet
Overview
- Flip-and-write game for 1–7+ players, 12 rounds [p.2 — Overview]
- Each player is a pioneer building a homestead; all use the same shared task card row simultaneously [p.2 — Overview]
- Core loop: choose 2 task cards per round → tend, fish, chop, or mine → gain resources → spend or place them [p.16 — Task Phase]
- Resources have no storage — use them immediately when gained [p.5 — Gaining and Using Resources]
- Win by having the most victory points at end of round 12 [p.2 — Overview]
Setup
- Shuffle neighbor cards into a deck [p.12 — Table Setup]
- Draw 1 objective card per season (S1, S2, S3) face up in a row; return the rest [p.12 — Table Setup]
- Build 2 upcoming season decks: 3× S3 → 4× S2 → 3× S1 face down + 1× S1 face up on each [p.12 — Table Setup]
- Shuffle starter task cards face down as the main task deck; draw top 5 face up [p.12 — Table Setup]
- Sort all dice into a shared general supply [p.12 — Table Setup]
- Each player takes: Farm Sheet, Cargo Sheet, Scratch-Off Card, 6 color pencils, metal coin, commissary board, guide card, fishing/geode cards + rolling dice, 2 neighbor cards (draw 4, keep 1 per track, discard 2) [p.13 — Player Components]
Turn structure
Each round has 5 phases in order [p.14 — Round Structure]:
- Neighbor Phase — gain resources from gifted neighbor cards; replace spent neighbor cards (skip round 1)
- Scoring Phase — score season objective at start of rounds 6, 10, and end of game only
- Setup Phase — discard face-up task cards; draw 3 new ones + 1 from each upcoming season deck (skip round 1)
- Growth Phase — tick up all crop and animal dice by 1; harvest any that show a white symbol
- Task Phase — choose any 2 of the 5 face-up task cards and resolve them; flip guide card when done

- Energy bar: circle when unlocked; draw a line through it to spend 1 charge (+1 action); max 1 use per task; 2 charges per bar [p.21 — Energy Bars]
- 'OR' on a card: choose one option only [p.17 — Resolving Tasks]
- Conditional task cards: top half always available; bottom half only if condition is met [p.16 — Task Phase]
Scoring
- Cargo Manifest — each filled box = 1 pt by default; stall bonuses can override (e.g. fish boxes worth 2 pts in a stall) [p.22 — Scoring Cargo]
- Season Objectives — scored at start of rounds 6, 10, and end of game; record in OBJ.1/2/3 boxes [p.15 — Scoring Phase]
- Badges — earn listed VP for each badge (2 completed project rows); Seasoned Explorer doubles 1 badge's VP [p.23 — Final Scoring]
- Neighbor Bonuses — compare each neighbor rewards track with adjacent player; +3 VP per box you have filled that they do not [p.23 — Final Scoring]
- Highest TOTAL wins; ties are shared [p.23 — End of Game]
End of game
- Game ends after round 12 [p.23 — End of Game]
- After round 12: perform one final neighbor phase, then score season 3 objective, then final scoring [p.23 — End of Game]
- Tally: STALL 1+2+3 → CARGO total; OBJ 1+2+3 → season total; BADGES + NEIGHBOR → combined; sum all into TOTAL [p.23 — Final Scoring]
- Player with highest TOTAL wins; ties are shared [p.23 — End of Game]
- Solo: discard completed neighbor cards; score 3 pts per filled neighbor track box instead [p.23 — Single Player Rules]
- 2-player: each player is both left and right neighbor for their partner [p.23 — Two Player Rules]
Glossary
- Tick Up: rotate a die to its next higher face value [p.16 — Growth Phase]
- Harvest: when a die shows a white symbol after ticking up, collect that resource; ✕ = return die to supply, ✕ = reset die to '1' [p.16 — Growth Phase]
- Tilled Soil: a '+' drawn on a farm square, required before placing crops [p.20 — Tilled Soil]
- Trellis: an unlockable upgrade; draw its symbol over an open 2×2 farm square before planting certain crops [p.20 — Trellises]
- Badge: earned by completing 2 rows of a badge project; awards VP at end of game [p.6 — Earning Victory Points]
- Cargo Manifest: the grid on the Cargo Sheet where resources are placed for end-game VP; same-type goods may not touch orthogonally [p.5 — Gaining and Using Resources]
- Upcoming Season Decks: two pre-built decks that feed new task cards into the row each setup phase [p.12 — Table Setup]
- Groundskeeping: free, unlimited action to trade specific resources for tilled soil or fencing [p.19 — Groundskeeping]
- Intern Program: spend 3 coins to perform any 1 main task; upgrades and energy bars apply [p.9 — Cargo Sheet]

- Q: When can I use groundskeeping? — A: Anytime during the task phase; it is free, unlimited, and does not require a Tend action. Do not cross out elements in the groundskeeping area. [p.27 — FAQ]
