Nemesis Retaliation – Sangrevores Expansion reference sheet

Overview

  • 1–5 players vs. Sangrevore Intruders (vampire-like alien race) [p.1 — Introduction]
  • Expansion for Nemesis: Retaliation; replaces standard Intruder setup entirely [p.2 — Setup]
  • Core loop unchanged: explore, survive, complete Objective, escape [p.4 — End of the Game]
  • Key twist: no Noise rolls — Shadow markers replace Noise markers [p.3 — Movement]
  • New threats: Infections pollute your deck; Tainted Blood grants special Abilities [p.4 — Infections / Tainted Blood]
  • Win by surviving Eclosion Procedure and completing your Objective [p.4 — End of the Game]

Setup

  • Sections, Remaining Components, and Player Setup: use base rulebook unchanged [p.2 — Setup]

Intruder Setup

  1. Shuffle Sangrevore Exploration deck; place face down with discard space.
  2. Separate Sangrevore tokens by type; shuffle each pile; place model-icon side up.
  3. Fill Intruder bag: 1 Blank, 2 Blood Specter tokens, 3 random Ghoul tokens + 1 extra Ghoul per Character.
  4. Place all Sangrevore models nearby.
  5. Shuffle Sangrevore Attack and Event decks separately; place face down.
  6. Shuffle King Health cards numbers-down onto Queen Health space of Section 'C' border; place Universal marker on '0' of Queen's Hits track.
  7. Place Sangrevore Help sheet 'The King is Alive' side up near the bag.

Additional Setup

  1. Shuffle Shadow deck; place face down near Exploration deck (replaces Contamination deck).
  2. Shuffle Infection deck; place on right side of Facility (replaces Contamination deck position).
  3. Shuffle Tainted Blood deck; place near Serious Wound deck.

Turn structure

  • Movement does NOT trigger a Noise roll — place 1 Shadow marker in each adjacent Corridor instead (except the one just moved through) [p.3 — Movement Sequence]
  • If moving through Shadow markers, draw 1 Shadow card and resolve by number of markers passed; discard markers [p.3 — Movement Sequence]
  • Moving Cautiously: place a marker in destination room, skip Shadow card draw, leave Shadow markers in place [p.3 — Movement Sequence]
  • Opportunity Attacks trigger for Intruders in same Room or target Corridor (max 3 attacks, largest first) [p.3 — Movement Sequence]
  • Infections in hand may be played for their bottom effect (costs 1 Action) or discarded when Passing (lose 1 per pass) [p.4 — Infections]
  • Tainted Blood Ability: usable once per Round, costs an Action [p.4 — Tainted Blood]

Actions

Action Effect Limit
Move Move through Corridor; resolve Shadow markers if not Cautious Per move rules
Move Cautiously Move without resolving Shadow markers; place marker in room Per move rules
Burst Shadow markers Apply Hits to Shadow markers, removing them; no other effect Uses ammo
Play Infection (bottom effect) Remove Infection from deck 1 Action, once per card
Discard Infection (on Pass) Discard any number of Infections; lose 1 per discard Only when Passing
Rest (card) Discard any number of Infections from hand to discard pile No extra cost
Tainted Blood Ability Use Active Tainted Blood card's special Ability Once per Round

Combat

  • Sangrevore Intruder hierarchy: Ghouls = Adults, Blood Specters = Drones, King = Queen equivalent; no Larvae [p.4 — Intruders]
  • Opportunity Attacks: resolve for each Intruder in same Room or target Corridor; max 3 attacks; largest Intruders first [p.3 — Movement Sequence]
  • Being attacked may result in gaining Infection cards (shuffled into Action deck) or losing Tainted Blood cards [p.4 — Infections / Tainted Blood]
  • Shadow marker limit: max 3 per Corridor; placing a 4th replaces ALL with 1 Blood Specter [p.3 — Shadow Markers Limit]
  • Each Hit in a Corridor may be applied to 1 Shadow marker, removing it [p.3 — Movement Sequence]
  • When discarding Tainted Blood: always discard the bottom-most card in the stack [p.4 — Tainted Blood]

End of game

  • Trigger: same as base game (Characters Escape or Hibernate) [p.4 — End of the Game]

End Sequence (surviving Characters only)

  1. Any Character with Infection cards (deck, hand, or discard) performs Eclosion Procedure — drawing an Infection card = death [p.4 — End of the Game]
  2. Surviving Characters reveal and check their Objective (choose now if not yet chosen) [p.4 — End of the Game]
  3. Characters who completed their Objective win [p.4 — End of the Game]

Glossary

  • Infection card: deck-polluting card gained from Sangrevore attacks; used in Eclosion Procedure at game end [p.4 — Infections]
  • Tainted Blood card: gift from Sangrevores; grants a once-per-Round Ability; only the Active (top) card can be used [p.4 — Tainted Blood]
  • Active Tainted Blood: the face-up top Tainted Blood card; the only one usable for its Ability [p.4 — Tainted Blood]
  • Eclosion Procedure: end-game check; drawing an Infection card during it kills the Character [p.4 — End of the Game]

  • Ghoul: Adult-tier Sangrevore; primary enemy drawn from Intruder bag [p.4 — Intruders]
  • King: Queen-equivalent Sangrevore; Health tracked on King Health cards on Section 'C' border [p.2 — Intruder Setup]
