what is queen

The Queen is a specific type of Intruder token with unique combat mechanics and special survival traits regarding the game's end conditions.

The Queen is one of the Intruder tokens included in the game setup, placed in the Intruder bag alongside other creatures like Larvae, Creepers, and Adults. During setup, players must place 1 Blank, 4 Larvae, 1 Creeper, 1 Queen, and 3 Adults into the Intruder bag. (Page 6: game_setup)

In combat, the Queen has higher durability than other Intruder types; resolving injuries against her requires drawing two Intruder Attack cards instead of one. When an Intruder like the Queen or Breeder suffers injuries, the player must draw 2 Intruder Attack cards, add the value of their "blood" symbols, and compare the total to the current number of Injury markers on the Intruder. (Page 20: intruder_injuries_and_death)

The Queen survives instant death caused by the ship jumping to hyperspace, meaning objectives requiring her destruction must be completed before the ship leaves. If the Time marker reaches the final red space, characters not in hibernation die, but this does not apply to Intruders, so if your Objective was to kill the Queen, your target remains unharmed.
