Can I move my pawn off the edge of the map?

Yes, you can move off the edge of the current map to reveal new nodes if unrevealed environment cards remain.

Moving off the edge of the map is part of the exploration mechanic. If you are at the edge of the revealed environment and there are unrevealed environment cards in the stack near the resource board, you may move into an empty adjacent space to reveal a new node [p.21 — Movement].
Procedure for revealing a new node:
- Point to the blank space where you intend to move.
- Reveal the top environment card from the stack.
- Place it face-up in the indicated space, oriented the same way as the Scarab.
- Move your explorer (and any required tokens) onto the new node, resolving node-edge and "when entering" effects [p.21 — Map Exploration].
Edge cases:
- If the movement would cross an impassable terrain symbol (e.g., a red X), you cannot complete the move. Return to your original node, leave the new node revealed, and resolve no effects [p.42 — Impassable Terrain].
- If no unrevealed environment cards remain, you cannot reveal new nodes. The game assumes all nodes are already revealed or the stack was improperly managed [p.22 — Opportunities].
Watch out:
If you reveal a face-down node (common in planet-specific setups), flip it face-up with its current orientation and resolve effects as normal. Do not rotate the card when placing it [p.21 — Map Exploration].
