When does the Blight spread from a land with Blight?
Quick answer
Blight spreads when a land with existing Blight receives another Blight, triggering a cascade to an adjacent land (which may further cascade if also Blighted).
Details
Blight spreads through a cascade mechanic:
- Trigger: Whenever Blight is added to a land that already has at least one Blight.
- Cascade: You must immediately add one Blight to one adjacent land (chosen by players).
- Chain Reaction: If the adjacent land also has Blight, the cascade repeats from there. This continues until a land without Blight is affected.
This rule applies universally, regardless of how the initial Blight was added (e.g., during Ravage, from Power effects, or Setup).
Example: If a land with 1 Blight takes additional Blight during Ravage, you add Blight to an adjacent land. If that land had Blight, you repeat the process.
Watch out: Cascading Blight can quickly spiral out of control. Prioritize removing Blight early, as even a single Blight in a land can trigger cascades later.
