Can I pay extra Coins to build a second building on a hex?

The game rules specify that each Building is placed on a specific Plot space indicated by an Architect token. When a Building is constructed on a Plot, the Architect token is moved to the Plot card’s track space, effectively removing that Plot from availability for further construction [p.7 — Construct (optional) — A. While players can construct multiple Buildings in a single turn by paying additional Coins (1 extra per additional Building beyond the first), this applies only to distinct Plots. Each Building must be placed on a separate available Plot space with its own Architect token [p.11 — Constructing additional Buildings].
Watch out: The cost reduction of Plot cards at the end of each turn (sliding them to the right on the track) does not allow multiple Buildings on the same hex. Even if a Plot’s cost decreases, it remains occupied once a Building is placed there.
