When can I use the Spy icon action with a board space?
Quick answer
You can use the Spy icon to send an Agent to a board space if you have a Spy on an observation post connected to that space.
Details
The Spy icon allows you to send an Agent to a board space linked to an observation post where you have placed a Spy. This does not require recalling the Spy; it remains on the observation post. To use this action:
- The board space must be connected to an observation post where your Spy is located.
- The card you play must include the Spy icon.
- The board space must be unoccupied (unless you use Infiltrate to bypass this).
For example, if you have a Spy on an observation post connected to "Imperial Basin," you can use the Spy icon on a card to send an Agent there, provided no other player’s Agent is already on that space.
Watch out:
If the board space is occupied, you can still send your Agent by recalling your Spy to use the Infiltrate ability, which removes the Spy from the observation post and lets you bypass the occupied space. However, this requires a separate action and loses the Spy’s presence on the post unless you place it again later. [p.11 — Spies]
