Do Legend Cards persist through Generations?
Quick answer
Yes, Legend Cards persist between games and can be used by the society in subsequent challenges.
Details
Legend Cards are created when a character perishes or ages out. The player records the character’s name, abilities, and traits on the back (Legend side) of the character card, which is then set aside with other Legends [p.17 — CHARACTER DEATH].
These Legends are retained between games. At the start of a new challenge, all unassigned Legend cards are available for use. Characters can gain or choose Legend cards during gameplay, and used Legends are returned to the unassigned pool after use [p.17 — LEGENDS].
The society’s Legends are stored collectively, and their information (e.g., traits, abilities) can influence future games. For example, a new character cannot choose a starting trait possessed by a Legend sharing the same name [p.15 — Step 1].
Watch out: Legends are tied to the society, not individual players. If a society is abandoned (e.g., starting a new campaign), Legends do not carry over to the new society [p.26 — Cards and Tokens].
