How do I pay for cards with multiple resource costs?

To pay a card's cost with multiple resources, use any combination of resources (including Wild) unless the card specifies required types.

Details

When paying a card's cost with multiple resource icons, the player generates resources by discarding cards or using "Resource" abilities. Each resource icon on a discarded card provides one resource of its type (Mental, Physical, Energy). Wild resources can substitute for any type.

To pay the cost:

1. Generate resources until the total matches the card's cost.
2. If the card specifies particular resource types (e.g., "2 Mental, 1 Energy"), only those types can be used.
3. Any excess resources generated are lost after paying the cost [p.11 — RESOURCE COSTS].

Watch out:
If a card’s cost includes both specific and Wild icons (e.g., "1 Physical, 1 Wild"), you must provide at least one Physical resource and one additional resource of any type (including Wild). Wild cannot substitute for the specified Physical in this case.
