How many Artifacts and Monsters are used in Seasons 2 and 3?
Quick answer
The number of Artifacts and Mythical Beasts used each season depends on player count, not the season itself: 2 each for 2 players, 3 each for 3 players, or 4 each for 4+ players, every season.
Details
During the Mist Phase of every season (including Seasons 2 and 3), players perform "Step 2 - Place Mist Cards," where they draw Artifacts and Mythical Beasts from their respective decks based on player count: 2 Players = 2 Artifacts, 2 Mythical Beasts and the Holy Grail Card; 3 Players = 3 Artifacts, 3 Mythical Beasts and the Holy Grail Card; 4+ Players = 4 Artifacts, 4 Mythical Beasts and the Holy Grail Card [p.5 — Phases: The Mist Phase]. These cards are shuffled together to form the Mist Deck, and one card is placed face down on each region (except regions with a Deep Mist Token) [p.5 — Phases: The Mist Phase].
This process is identical in structure for every season—the quantities scale with player count only, and the rule does not increase the number of Artifacts/Mythical Beasts in Season 2 or Season 3 compared to Season 1 [p.5 — Phases: The Mist Phase].
Watch out: If the Holy Grail was not claimed in the previous season, it is placed back near the Favor Track and re-enters the Mist Deck again in the next Mist Phase, so it continues to be included in the count of Mist Cards each season until someone claims it [p.5 — Phases: The Mist Phase].
