What does the Exposed Token do?

Quick answer

The Exposed token makes a Stalker take +3 damage from attacks or causes Enemies to suffer escalated wounds, and is discarded after Movement or when the attack/wound is resolved.

Details

The Exposed token is a negative status that increases vulnerability to attacks.

For Stalkers:

  • When a Stalker with an Exposed token is Attacked, the attacker increases their ⚔️ dice by 3 (adding 3 damage) before resolving the attack. The Exposed token is then discarded.
  • If a Stalker with Exposed Moves (for any reason), the token is discarded immediately after the Movement.

For Enemies:

  • If an Enemy with Exposed suffers a Light Wound, it becomes a Heavy Wound. If it suffers a Heavy Wound, it is immediately killed (treated as a Pin Down). The Exposed token is discarded after resolving the wound.
  • After an Enemy with Exposed Moves, the token is discarded.

Exposed tokens can only be held one at a time by an entity. They are typically gained through specific Attack effects or Environmental interactions [p.29 — Status Tokens].

Watch out:

  • Exposed is easily removed by Movement, so Stalkers should reposition quickly to shed the status. Enemies with Exposed will become more vulnerable to finishing blows, but only if they are forced to Move or are attacked before their next Activation.
