How do I repair and draw a new card?
Quick answer
Pay 5 credits during Surfacing, remove a card (from hand, play area, discard, or deck top); if it was from your hand, draw a replacement card immediately.
Details
Repairing costs 5 credits and can only be done once each time you surface [p.10 — REPAIR]. To repair, choose any card from your hand, your play area, your discard pile, or the top card of your deck, and remove it from that location [p.10 — REPAIR].
If the card you repair is a DAMAGE card, place it back on top of the damage stack instead of removing it entirely; any other repaired card is removed from the game permanently [p.10 — REPAIR].
The draw-a-card bonus only applies if the card you chose to repair was in your hand — in that case, you draw a card from your deck to replace it [p.10 — REPAIR]. This replacement draw does not happen if you repair a card from your play area, discard pile, or the top of your deck.
Watch out: Many starting deck cards score negative points at game end, so repairing them (removing them permanently) can be a valuable use of your 5 credits [p.10 — REPAIR].
