When does the Quarantine objective trigger if the ship self-destructs?

Details
The Quarantine Objective requires the ship to reach Mars instead of Earth. However, this Objective only matters during the Victory Check, which occurs after the game ends and at least one Character has survived (either hibernating or in an Escape Pod). [p.11 — Victory Check]
If the ship self-destructs, all Characters on board die immediately, and the game ends without reaching the Victory Check phase. [p.11 — End of the Game] Since no Characters survive the explosion, there is no Victory Check to evaluate any Objectives, including Quarantine.
Watch out: The Quarantine Objective is only relevant if your Character survives AND the ship reaches Mars. If the ship explodes, self-destructs, or jumps to a non-Mars destination while your Character is still awake on board, you cannot win with this Objective.
