How does enemy armour work?

Quick answer

Enemy armor reduces incoming damage by their armor value; effects that ignore armor lower this value temporarily.

Details

Enemy armor functions identically to Character armor. When damage is dealt to an Enemy, subtract their armor value from the damage total before applying it. For example, if an Enemy has 2 armor and takes 5 damage, they lose 3 HP. Multiple armor sources (e.g., items, effects) stack, adding their values together.

If an effect grants "Ignore Armor X," the Enemy’s armor is reduced by X for that attack (e.g., 3 armor → 1 armor if X=2). If this reduction brings armor to 0 or below, the full damage is applied. Armor is not removed permanently—only suppressed for the specific attack.

Watch out: Armor reduction (e.g., "Ignore Armor") applies only to the specific attack or effect that triggers it. The Enemy’s base armor returns for subsequent attacks unless another effect re-applies the reduction.
