How do supply lines work in the game?

Supply lines are land-based connections between cities, establishing adjacency for movement purposes [p.6 — SUPPLY LINES]. During gameplay, cities linked by supply lines are considered directly connected, allowing players to move between them using the Drive/Ferry action (which requires no card discard) [p.10 — DRIVE / FERRY].
Sea-based movement (via sea lanes) requires different actions like Sail (discard a matching city card) or Charter Boat (discard the current city’s card). Supply lines do not involve water routes, so sea-based movement rules do not apply to them.
