What is the limit for packing Items?

Characters can carry up to 2 hand items, 3 body items, and 3 gear items. Exceeding these limits requires discarding or transferring excess items. [p.16 — Mantle Board]
Details
Each character’s mantle board has specific item slots:
- Hand items (🖐️): Maximum of 2.
- Body items (🧥): Maximum of 3.
- Gear items (🎒): Maximum of 3.
If a character acquires an item beyond these limits (e.g., crafting a third hand item when already carrying two), they must immediately:
- Give the excess item to another character in the same hex (with permission).
- If unable to transfer, discard the excess item by returning it to the item deck.
This limit applies to equipped items only. Tokens (materials, food, etc.) are stored in the mantle’s bag slot, which has no explicit capacity limit but requires tokens to fit flat in the designated space [p.16 — Mantle Board].
Watch out: Items with special storage rules (e.g., certain crafted items that allow tokens to be placed directly on the item card) do not count against the mantle’s item limits. Always check the item’s description for exceptions.
