Besides Hagal cards, what other components are needed for a 2-player setup?
Quick answer
A 2-player game uses the same core components as any game, plus House Hagal cards and a third Rival player (House Hagal) with its own color, cubes, and agents.
Details
For a 2-player game, you need all standard components: the game board, both players' full component sets (cubes, discs, agents, etc.), the Conflict Deck, Intrigue Deck, Imperium Deck, Reserve cards, and all tokens (Solari, spice, water). [p.3 — Game Components]
The key addition is House Hagal, which functions as a third, automated opponent. House Hagal requires its own color selection, cubes placed on each Faction's Influence track, and three agents. [p.19 — Two-Player Games, Setup] You also need the House Hagal deck itself—a separate deck of cards that controls House Hagal's actions throughout the game. [p.19 — Two-Player Games, Setup]
Watch out: Before shuffling the House Hagal deck, you must remove the three Arrakeen cards marked "1P" in the upper right corner, since those are for solo play only. [p.19 — Two-Player Games, Setup] House Hagal starts with no troops in its garrison, unlike solo Rivals. [p.19 — Two-Player Games, Setup]
