Can you build a second building of the same type and score it again?

You can build a second building of the same type, but it does not increase your Neighborhood’s influence multiplier. Its specific effects (☑) still trigger when activated.

Building a second instance of the same type is allowed, as the rules do not restrict duplicate Building types in a Neighborhood [p.10 — Building Types]. However, when calculating a Neighborhood’s influence, only distinct Building types contribute to the multiplier. A duplicate type does not increase the count of different types, so the influence score (stars × types) remains unchanged [p.10 — Calculating the influence of a Neighborhood].
That said, any ☑ effects on the second Building still activate when the Neighborhood is triggered. For example, if a Building grants “+1 🏆” when activated, this bonus applies every time the Neighborhood is activated, regardless of duplicates [p.9 — When activated].
Watch out: The Park Building is an exception—it can be counted as any type once per influence calculation. If used to fill a missing type, it can boost the multiplier even if other Buildings are duplicated [p.10 — The Park].
