How do I deal with the Blight card when it is drawn?

Quick answer

When Blight is added to a land, take it from the Blight Card. If the "Healthy" side is empty, flip the card; if the "Blighted" side is empty, follow the card’s instructions (usually losing).

Details

When a land gains Blight (e.g., during Ravage or cascading), remove one Blight token from the Blight Card and place it on the land [p.15 — Blight]. The Blight Card starts with its "Healthy" side face-up, holding a set number of Blight tokens. If the "Healthy" side runs out, flip the card to the "Blighted" side, which has its own rules (often "you lose" if exhausted) [p.6 — Invader Board].

Cascade Rule: Adding Blight to an already-Blighted land triggers a cascade: add another Blight to an adjacent land. This repeats for each newly Blighted land [p.15 — Effects of Blight].

Setup Note: During setup, place a random Blight Card on the board’s Blight Space. If not using a Blight Card, use the board’s printed instructions instead [p.6 — Invader Board].

Watch out:
If the Blight Card’s "Blighted" side runs out, the game is lost unless the card specifies otherwise. Always track Blight usage carefully to avoid unexpected defeat.
