When does a player's turn end in World Order?
Quick answer
A player's turn ends immediately after they resolve their played Ability card (or a Strategic Asset play/Pass instead), then play passes to the next player in turn order.
Details
During the Actions step of the Action Phase, each player in turn order plays one Ability card from their hand and resolves its effect, or instead chooses to play a Strategic Asset card or Pass [p.12 — Action Phase]. Once that card's effect (or the alternative option) has been fully resolved, "your turn is over," and the next player on the Turn Order track takes their turn [p.12 — Action Phase].
This single-card-per-turn cycle repeats until every player has taken 4 turns each in the round, after which the Actions step ends and the group moves on to the Research step [p.12 — Action Phase]. The played cards remain face up (or face down, if used to enable a Strategic Asset/Pass) in front of the player as a visual reminder of how many turns they've taken so far [p.12 — Action Phase].
Watch out: If an effect lets you play multiple cards within the same turn, your turn still doesn't end until you've resolved all of them — stack the extra cards together so the number of "piles" in front of you still equals your actual turn count [p.12 — Action Phase].
