How do Woodland Alliance Supporters work when you have too many?
Quick answer
If the Woodland Alliance has no base, they can hold up to 5 supporters; excess must be discarded. With a base, there is no limit.
Details
The Woodland Alliance’s supporter limit depends on whether they have a base on the map. If no base is present, they may only retain up to 5 supporters in their Supporters stack. Any additional supporters must be discarded immediately [p.14 — Supporters, Sympathy, and Outrage].
Supporters are gained through actions like Outrage (when enemies move into or remove sympathy tokens from clearings) or other faction interactions. These supporters are stored separately from the player’s hand and can only be spent for specific actions tied to their suit.
If the Alliance places a base via Revolt, the supporter limit is removed entirely. This allows them to accumulate unlimited supporters, which can be used for future revolts, spreading sympathy, or other actions.
Watch out: Discarding excess supporters happens as soon as the limit is exceeded. Players must check their supporter count after gaining new ones (e.g., during Outrage triggers or card plays) to avoid accidentally overfilling their stack. If a base is later removed, the 5-supporter limit reapplies immediately.
