When can Damyio seal?
Quick answer
Daimyo Seals are gained by placing dice in the Well, through card actions in the Castle or Domains, or via icons on spaces/cards when placing dice.
Details
Daimyo Seals can be acquired in the following ways:
-
The Well: Placing a die in the Well grants 1 Daimyo Seal, regardless of the die’s value. Additionally, if the die shows a value greater than 1, the player also receives coins equal to that value [p.7 — The Well].
-
Card Actions: When placing a die in the Castle (Stewards’ or Diplomats’ floors) or Personal Domains, certain spaces or cards may include Daimyo Seal icons as rewards. For example, activating a Courtier action in the Castle might grant Seals [p.8 — The Personal Domains, p.10 — Courtiers].
-
Lantern Rewards: Activating Lantern icons (e.g., by taking a left-side Bridge die) allows players to claim rewards from their Lantern Area, which may include Daimyo Seals [p.12 — Lantern Rewards].
Watch out: Daimyo Seals can also be earned through exchanges (e.g., 2 Seals for 1 Resource or 1 Seal for 1 coin) at any time, but these are uses of existing Seals, not methods to gain them initially [p.12 — Daimyo Seals].
Exchanging Seals for resources or coins does not "gain" new Seals but repurposes existing ones. Always check the specific space, card, or action for Daimyo Seal icons to identify gain opportunities.
