When do players score points for the 70VP Endgame Condition?
Quick answer
A player scores 3 VP immediately when they become the first to reach 70 VP, triggering that endgame condition, not later at final scoring.
Details
Reaching 70 VP is one of the five endgame conditions, and it can only be met once—by the first player to hit that total [p.20 — Endgame Conditions & End of the Game]. As soon as any endgame condition is met, the player who triggered it moves the left-most Endgame Condition marker from the side board onto that condition's dedicated space and immediately scores 3 VP, "as shown in the now revealed space" [p.20 — Endgame Conditions & End of the Game].
This scoring happens at the moment the condition is triggered during normal play, not during Final Scoring. After the game-end trigger, play continues until all players have had an equal number of turns, then one final round is played before moving to Final Scoring [p.20 — Endgame Conditions & End of the Game].
Watch out: Reaching 70 VP does not end the game instantly—it only counts as one of the two (or three, in a 2-player game) required conditions to trigger the endgame sequence. Play continues afterward per the normal end-of-game procedure [p.20 — Endgame Conditions & End of the Game].
