How do you resolve the Production phase?

Quick answer

Choose one of your Factories, spend 2/3/4 Money (for level 1/2/3 Factories) per activation, then place produced Goods below that Factory, up to 4 spaces, gaining extra Goods per Machine present.

Details

To perform the Production action, you get 1–3 activations, each in a different Factory [p.11 — PRODUCTION ACTION]. For each activation, you first choose one of your Factories to produce in, then spend Money according to its level: 2 for a level-1 Factory, 3 for a level-2 Factory, or 4 for a level-3 Factory [p.11 — PRODUCE].

After paying, take the produced Goods from the general supply and place them on the empty spaces below the chosen Factory tile. A Factory produces 1 Good as basic production, plus 1 additional Good for each Machine built in that Factory [p.11 — PRODUCE]. All Goods produced by a given Factory are of the same type, matching that Factory's type [p.11 — Additional Rules and Clarifications].

Each Factory has only 4 spaces for Goods below its tile. If production would create more Goods than there is room for, discard the excess [p.11 — Additional Rules and Clarifications]. You may not move Goods from one Factory to another, even if they share the same type [p.11 — Additional Rules and Clarifications].

Watch out: Since each activation must target a different Factory, you cannot produce twice in the same Factory during one Production action turn — plan your Machines and Factory choices accordingly [p.11 — PRODUCTION ACTION].
