how to time travel?
To time travel in Anachrony, you use the Warp phase and Power Plant buildings. Here's how you can do it:
-
Warp Phase: During the Warp phase, you can place Warp tiles on the current Timeline tile to bring assets from the future to the present. You secretly hide 0-2 Warp tiles in your hand and then reveal them simultaneously with other players. You immediately receive the assets shown on the selected Warp tiles (Page 10).
-
Power Plant Buildings: Power Plant buildings allow you to manipulate time by powering up the Time Rift. When you activate a Power Plant, you can:
- Move your Focus marker to a past Timeline tile within the range of the Power Plant.
- Optionally send an asset back through the Time Rift by spending the Resource, Water, Worker, or Exosuit shown on a Warp tile on that Timeline tile. Remove the Warp tile from the Timeline tile and return it to your personal supply.
- Move your Time Travel marker one step to the right on your Player board, which will be worth Victory Points at the end of the game (Page 17).
-
Focus and Time Travel: By shifting your Focus to a past Timeline tile using Power Plants, you can close the loop and send assets back to the past, avoiding temporal Paradoxes and potential Anomalies (Page 7, Page 17).
Remember, time travel is a key concept in Anachrony, allowing you to boost your progress by using resources and manpower from your future. However, be mindful of the temporal Paradoxes and Anomalies that may arise from excessive straining of the Timeline.
