Details
The rulebook's setup instructions specify different numbers of Escape Pods depending on group size: 2 Escape Pods for 1–2 players, 3 for 3–4 players, and 4 for 5 players, confirming the supported player range [p.6 — Board Setup]. There is also a dedicated Solo Mode for playing alone, and a Fully Cooperative Mode that scales objectives "one card per player," both designed to work within this same range [p.27 — Solo & Cooperative Mode].
Additionally, Character and Objective setup scale with player count: Help cards are dealt according to the number of players, and Objective cards showing a player count higher than the number in your game are removed before dealing [p.8 — Game Setup: Steps 14-20, Crew Setup].
Watch out: While the core competitive/semi-cooperative game is built for 1–5 players, Solo Mode has extra rules (like halved item counts) that only apply when playing alone [p.27 — Solo & Cooperative Mode].
